ROCKIES WIN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP!

The Rockies defeated the Fossils by the score of 6-0 to win their first league championship. Glenn Blakley went the distance on the mound for the Rockies by throwing an improbable shutout against a team that has never been blanked in league play. Before the game was played, most league managers and players assumed that the Fossils would win it all this year. However, there has not been a team that could win both the regular season Division Title and the League Championship during the same league season since the inaugural year of Denver Over 60 Baseball. This year, things appeared different with the Fossils as the only team that had a winning record with an impressive 10-1-1 record. The Rockies finished second in division play with a 5-7 record, and they spent most of the season in last place until the last 2 weeks of the regular season. From "worst to first" is again the motto of our league champion.
